Collapsed Pastie
Thousands of pounds worth of equipment from a collapsed Grimsby catering firm . . . Freshney Pasties . . . is to go under the hammer at industrial auctioneers CJM Asset Management in Scunthorpe on Tuesday (21st August).
Based on the concourse in the Freshney Place shopping centre, the business went into liquidation earlier this year.
Auctioneer Paul Cooper said: “Freshney Pasties was part of a national franchise operation and they hit trouble when the parent company went under. Overnight their supplier was no longer there.”
“We’ve now been sent thousands of pounds worth of equipment for disposal, everything ranging from the Italian-style coffee machine to the panini press. We have even got the cold-room, which has been dismantled and is now flat-packed”
“It is expensive, good quality, commercial catering equipment that is in excellent condition. Top notch stuff.”
Mr. Cooper added: “The closure of Freshney Pasties is not an indication that the catering business is having a particularly difficult time. It’s a large and diverse industry and operations are coming and going all the time.”
“Next Tuesday’s auction includes other equipment from a number of catering companies around the region that have closed for various reasons.”
In all the sale extends to almost 600 lots. The viewing sessions are on Monday (20th August) 1pm-7pm and on Tuesday morning from 8.30am until the start of the sale at 10 am. Catalogues are available from CJM or can be downloaded free of charge from the firm’s website: www.cjmasset.com
